
Ron Williams
Insurance Specialist, Canada and Caribbean
Ron is a Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Construction Quantity Surveyor with forty years construction and Loss Adjusting experience in the UK, Canada, and the Americas. Graduating with the advanced City and Guilds of London Institute and ULCI diploma, Ron travelled to New Zealand to pursue his construction consultancy career.
Several years later, Ron moved to Canada within the insurance arena, working directly for major insurance companies, independent adjusting firms and building consultants as a loss adjuster / Construction Quantity Surveyor. Ron’s career developed to include residential, commercial and agricultural buildings, as well as healthcare and educational facilities. Ron has also been involved in dispute resolution and quantum control and specialises in reinstatement valuations, risk/ loss control inspections and consulting.
Ron has handled complex catastrophe damages throughout Canada and the US. Ron returned to the UK briefly in 2015 following flooding and then moved on to The Bahamas in 2015 and The British Virgin Islands in 2017. In 2019 Ron was tasked with quantifying damages in the Abaco region following the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian, to the value of circa US$150M.
Ron is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, and the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society
