David Clee

David has over 40 years of experience in the financial sector including banking, financial advisory, troubled debt restructuring and collection, and the raising of debt capital from banks and the capital markets. He has led a wide range of transactions in real estate, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, forestry and the power and utilities industries.


David worked at FirstCaribbean International Bank from 2011 to 2017 based in Barbados as the Chief Credit Officer, Chair of the Bank’s Credit Committee and was also responsible for resolving the bank’s troubled debt portfolios that aggregated to USD1 billion. David was also responsible for the loan loss provisions on the Bank’s loans and investments.


At CIBC’s Toronto Head Office from the early 1980’s to 2010 David held various senior executive positions in Risk Management responsible for the bank’s corporate loan portfolios in several industry segments, troubled debt monitoring, control and collection, and as a Managing Director in charge of several industry sectors in CIBC World Markets being the loan originationand advisory side of the Bank.



David holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business Toronto, a BA from Queen’s University Kingston and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
